About the BRTCA
We are the black russian terrier's champion
Established in 1997, the Black Russian Terrier Club of America (BRTCA) is the American Kennel Club (AKC) Member Parent Club representing the Black Russian Terrier in the United States. As the official AKC parent club, the BRTCA is dedicated to preserving, protecting, and promoting this remarkable breed through education, ethical breeding practices, responsible ownership, and the preservation of the Black Russian Terrier's natural working abilities.
The Club sponsors and supports a variety of activities that celebrate and advance the breed, including the National Specialty, conformation, performance and companion events, temperament evaluations, health testing, educational programs, judge and owner mentoring, and initiatives that encourage ongoing breed health research. Through these efforts, the BRTCA works to ensure the long-term health, soundness, temperament, and versatility of the Black Russian Terrier.
Our members are passionate advocates for the breed and are committed to protecting its interests through responsible stewardship, education, and sportsmanship. Whether participating in dog sports, mentoring new owners, supporting health research, or sharing knowledge with the public, BRTCA members are united by a common goal—to preserve the integrity and future of the Black Russian Terrier.
The BRTCA welcomes everyone who shares an interest in the breed, from prospective owners and devoted companions to breeders, exhibitors, judges, and performance enthusiasts. We invite you to explore our club, learn more about the Black Russian Terrier, and join us in celebrating and preserving this extraordinary breed.
