​BRTCA Performance Committee


​The BRTCA Performance Committee promotes, supports, and recognizes participation in performance sports and companion activities that showcase the versatility, working heritage, and sound temperament of the Black Russian Terrier.

​We are committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment where handlers of all experience levels—and dogs of all backgrounds—can enjoy meaningful activities together. While the Committee emphasizes American Kennel Club (AKC) performance events, we also encourage involvement in a wide range of activities that strengthen the bond between dog and handler, promote responsible ownership, and highlight the many abilities of the breed.
AKC performance sports and companion events may include, but are not limited to:
​- Agility
- Obedience
 - Rally Obedience
- Tracking
- Herding
- Scent Work
- CGC (Canine Good Citizen) and other AKC Family Dog Program titles
- Fast CAT (Coursing Ability Test)
- Trick Dog
- Barn Hunt
- Temperament and evaluation events (such as Therapy Dog work)

Through education, recognition, and the development of performance programs, the Committee seeks to increase member participation, enhance the value of BRTCA membership, and celebrate the achievements of Black Russian Terriers at every level of performance competition.
