Our History
The Black Russian Terrier Club of America (BRTCA) was established in 1997 as the American Kennel Club (AKC) Parent Club representing the Black Russian Terrier (BRT) in the United States.
Since its founding, the Club has been dedicated to the stewardship of the breed by promoting responsible breeding, education, ethical responsibility, and the preservation of the Black Russian Terrier's natural working abilities and sound temperament.
As the Parent Club, the BRTCA works closely with breeders, owners, judges, exhibitors, and enthusiasts to support the continued development and preservation of this exceptional breed. Through educational programs, health initiatives, specialty events, and member involvement, the Club strives to ensure that future generations of Black Russian Terriers continue to exemplify the qualities that have made the breed so highly respected around the world.
Today, the BRTCA proudly serves as the national organization for the breed, providing leadership, educational resources, breeder guidance, rescue support, and opportunities for members to celebrate and preserve the Black Russian Terrier.

- Support rescue efforts and responsible placement of Black Russian Terriers in need.
